Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) secured their eighth league title with a 2-1 victory over Monaco on Sunday in Ligue 1's round 26. The match was played at Parc des Princes and saw PSG take control from the outset.

Monaco were not going down without a fight though, and they came close to equalizing in the 59th minute when Zlatan Ibrahimovic headed wide. But PSG held on to their advantage and increased their lead when Mbappé added another goal in the 89th minute. It was a moment of relief for the home side as they looked like they might lose the game.

As the clock ticked down, it became clear that this would be a shootout. Both sides took turns shooting, but it was PSG who came out on top with a 2-0 win. Mbappé's second goal in extra time extended the lead even further and ensured that PSG won the match.

This result means that PSG have now extended their lead in the table to six points over leaders Lyon, who also won their match against Nice earlier in the day. With only five matches remaining in the season, PSG will need to continue their strong form if they want to retain their title.
